Yeah, kind of… hehehe but I’m not really a serious blogger that’s why I used Tumblr. It makes writing a bit easier somehow..:D I do hope you like what you see/read. Thanks for following! :D

ERSAO
Cuisine: Taiwanese
Food Trip Buddy: Mitch
Budget: P75 - P150 (depends on your budget)
When: October 20, 2010 (Wednesday)
Where: E. Rodriguez Ave. Quezon City
What Happened:
Mitch was just telling me a new Taiwanese place she knows but hasn’t really tried yet along E. Rodriguez Ave. when the jeep that we are in stopped right in front of it. We were about to go to UP when right there and then we decided to hop out of the jeep and try “Ersao”.
“Ersao” means sister-in-law according to one stuff there. I’m 25% Chinese and I studied Chinese; why didn’t I know that? (hahaha) It’s a long story so never mind! (hahaha) If you’re interested why it’s named like that; that makes the two of us. I really didn’t have the time to interview them and shyness got the best of me.
The scheme of the place is much like a fastfood. You pick from a menu, place your orders, choose a table and wait for a few minutes for your food. We ordered their combo meals - Spicy Squid + rice + strawberry pearl shake (P120) for me and Dry Chicken Steak + rice + buko lychee pearl shake (P140?) for Mitch. We also ordered a half fried half steamed dumplings (P100) which we both shared
All in all it was a pleasant experience. The food was good and the price was reasonable. So if you want an affordable hefty serving of good food, then “Ersao” is definitely a place to visit.

WOK WITH ME
Cuisine: Asian
Food Trip Buddies: Dan and Zubi
Budget: P85 - P150 (depends on your order)
When: October 18, 2010 (Monday)
Where: 3rd Floor La Casa Vida Bldg. Dapitan cor. Geliños, Sampaloc, Manila
What Happened:
Since Dan already made an effort to drop by our apartment and pick up his singlet and race kit for the Adidas King of the Road Fun Run, he didn’t want to pass the chance for a food trip so I brought him to “Wok with Me”, a restaurant near our place which serves Asian cuisine.
I ordered “Kare-kareng laman dagat” (P100) and Dan ordered a Lamb Chop (P130). Although I managed to finish it (with the help of Dan of course), my dish was more than I can handle; It can be shared by 2 to 3 persons. It was pretty heavy, not on the budget luckily. Dan’s steak was cooked a little well done for his liking but all in all he enjoyed his dish and ordered an extra rice for it.
After our meal was dessert! (mmmm-mmmm!) We both ordered mango crêpes and we ordered peach crêpe for Zubi, who arrived just in time for dessert. So what could possibly be better than going to bed with a full stomach to warm you up during a cold rainy night of sleep?

What: 10.10.10 Run for Pasig River
When: October 10, 2010 (Sunday)
Where: From CCP to SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
What Happened:
Running for health is fun but running for a cause is exhilarating! (Especially if this run is going to be in the Guinness Book of World Record! I hope!)
Before this race, I really made sure that my friends run with me. It’s my first official run and I want it to be memorable, you know, just enough to make me run again. So I pulled a few strings and got them to run with me for free. No, It has nothing to do with me talking to powerful people. It’s just that some classmates of mine in grad school (UERMMMCI) who already registered for the run backed out of it one day before the event so I asked them if they won’t mind if my friends would just run for them instead and they agreed. It would have been better though if I got three 5K route; instead, I got one 5K route in which I would be running and two 3K route with different singlet sizes. I just have to make it work somehow. One way or the other, some will have to compromise. So Zubi got the 5K route; Mitch and Tumambing got the 3K route.
I woke up at around 2AM this morning, took a bath, prepared for the run and cooked breakfast for Zubi, Mitch and me. We met up with Tumambing and went to our starting points at CCP (5K) and SM Mall of Asia (3K). After depositing our baggage, we spotted three familiar faces in the crowd of runners - Ernest, PA, and Cyril. We approached them and they introduced us to Melyn (sp?). Zubi and I decided to run with them and the run somehow became a bit more fun. Oh, we also got the chance to have a picture with Coach Rio Dela Cruz. He’s no Piolo Pascual but he’s still a celebrity. He’s a high-speed roadrunner, a running coach extraordinaire, and a running events maestro.
The race started at 5:45AM. At first, Zubi and I were keeping up with the guys but after awhile they were ahead of us and then our distance became farther and farther apart until we can’t see them anymore. We just kept on running until we finished the race in less than an hour, exactly 50 minutes and 24 seconds. We could have done better but we weren’t really racing against anyone, it was just a fun run for a cause for us.
We met up with Ernest, PA and Cyril after the race. We got ourselves a few freebies and then we went and got our bags from the baggage area, which it took us a very long time to find (sheesh!). We then collected our finisher’s bands and ate lunch with Tumambing, Mitch, Mitch’s cousin and Tumambing’s sister.

So, do I want to run again after this? You bet!!! :D

When: October 5, 2010 (Tuesday)
Where: Harbour Square, CCP Complex; Roxas Blvd., Manila
Who: Zubi, Sarah and Me
What Happened:
Zubi and I always jog at UST but when Sarah wanted to join our morning run, she requested that we jog at Luneta Park; so we did!
We met at the Taft Ave. part of Luneta and started our jog there. We continued our run at Roxas Boulevard to CCP while we took pictures and talked about the past months we hadn’t seen each other.
Talking and laughing while running is fun but boy it will it take a lot of energy from you. So by the time we finished our run; we were so hungry. We looked for a restaurant that opens that early in the morning and what do you know; lo and behold, we found Army Navy. We ordered and shared their Onion Rings (P60) for our appetizer. Zubi and I ordered their Chicken and Steak Burritos (P135 and P155), respectively. The chicken was a bit bland for my liking but the steak was tasty. Sarah ordered their Steak Starving Sailor Sandwich (P225). It was for a starving sailor alright because Sarah was not able to finish it.

When I go out with friends, we usually dine out at lunch or dinner time; so this is definitely a first. I’m usually not a morning person but this is something else. What a breakfast, indeed!
When: September 26, 2010 (Sunday)
Where: La Mesa Ecopark and Katipunan, Quezon City
Who: Mitch, Yna, Tina, Tumambing, Dawn, Borge, and Me
What Happened:
When Tumambing invited me to join their group’s mini-reunion; she didn’t really need to say more; she had me at Ecopark. I love the outdoors - the sun over your shoulders, the sweat on your face, the smell of nature, and the pitter patter of rain. Yeah, I’m weird like that (hahaha).
It wasn’t my first time at Ecopark (Entrance: P50) but it was my first time to try their zip line (P50). If you’re afraid of heights, this will probably give you a rush; otherwise, it will just be a fun ride via a cable line. I wanted to try their climbing wall (P50) too but the rain ruined it all for Tina and me when it was our turn to climb (boohoo!). And paintball (P300) was out too because of the rain. How I love the outdoors!!
Instead of whining and grouching about the weather, we turned to something warm and comforting - food! Banapple is a pie and cheesecake heaven. And their servings of pasta and other dishes are good for sharing - a reasonable price to pay for a hearty and lovely meal. To eat there is a pleasure indeed!

The Going-Away Gift
A few days after she arrived in California, Shobe posted this in her Facebook account. That’s my going-away gift for her which I designed <*proud*> (ehem! hahaha). I had it printed on a scrub suit because she’s there to practise her profession as a nurse and she’ll be wearing scrubs all the time.
The back design is us girls who were left behind <*sniff*> - Rose, Me, Kat, Dens, and Mar. “Asteeg” was the name of our group when we were in high school. “Demoñita” is what we call each other when we’re being mean or being devil-like <*evil laugh*>, which rarely happens. It also started when we were in high school <*wink wink*nudge nudge*> (hahaha).
The front design is Shobe being all goody-goody (hence the halo) and meanie (hence the devil horn). She’s one classic example of a “demoñita”, isn’t she? :D

When: September 24, 2010 (Friday)
Where: Ty Residence, San Juan to NAIA 2
What Happened:
Shobe didn’t really want us to accompany her to the airport. She didn’t want us to see her cry I figured (hahaha). But Mar kept on insisting that we do. So we went to their house in San Juan to tag along with Tito Fernando, Francis, RC, Sobe’s Tita and cousin to NAIA.
We were actually running late but we still ate dinner at a restaurant near their house and then we went straight to the airport; we arrived two hours (instead of three) before her departure. She just gave each one of us a quick hug and a quick goodbye before she went in. We didn’t really have the time to shed a few sad tears because the moment passed us by so fast.
On our way home, Mar and I were ridiculously laughing the whole time. We were making jokes out of everything we can possibly think of; it was hilarious (I missed that). And when we arrived home, that’s when it hit us, Shobe is gone. <*sniff*>
Shakespeare once wrote, “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” I guess he did know what he was talking about when he wrote that. Parting is somehow “sweet” in its sense because it makes you think about the next time you will see each other again - after three long years. :)

When: September 23, 2010 (Thursday)
Where: Tomas Morato, Quezon City
Who: Shobe, Mar, Kat, Dens, Nikki, Chino, and Me
What Happened:
Since Chino was MIA last time, he wanted another despedida dinner for Shobe. So we went and ate at Bubble Tea. The girls were almost complete but Rose didn’t show up that night, probably a San-Beda-med-student thing because Mar and Nikki managed to come, now that’s probably a UST-med-students thing. (Ignore me, I’m amusing myself! hahaha) Nuh, it’s actually a Rose thing we are quite used to. (Peace Rose! hehehe)
Chino left leaving us girls to have the rest of the night to just talk and laugh and laugh some more (hahaha) plus the payment for all our foods. That’s probably the best part of the night. (Thanks Chino!!!) No, not really. The best part would be when Shobe announced through SMS that she loved my going-away gift for her. (Booyah! hahaha)
We may not have realized it that time but that’s probably our last dinner together before Shobe leaves for the US and it saddens me that Rose wasn’t there with us. Three years - that’s how long it would take for us to once again sit together at one table and reminisce the old times. <*sniff*> :)
